Our certified professional coders (CPC) and certified professional billers (CPB) have the knowledge required for addressing complex neurology billing processes. They are proficient in current coding guidelines (CPT codes for common neurology conditions, neuromuscular procedures, and 26 and 69 modifiers) and regulations. Here is how we will do it for you:
- Use neurology-specific billing software integrated with technologies such as electronic data interchange (EDI), electronic health records (EHR), and electronic medical records (EMR) to facilitate electronic claims submissions and electronic payments.
- Capture accurate patient information (patient demographics, physician referral data, Medicare, Medicaid or social security number, medical history) and insurance information (provider information, coverage type, prior authorization details, claims address, effective date, expiration date, etc.) to reduce errors and claims denials.
- Check whether any of the required neurology practices need preauthorization and apply for approval.
- Designate experts with specialized skills to manage the complete process of value-based billing, telemedicine billing, capitation billing, episode-of-care billing, and other related tasks from start to finish.
- Manage several billing types for our clients, including Evaluation and Management (E/M) Billing, Procedure-Based Billing (e.g., EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies), Ancillary Services Billing (e.g., imaging studies, laboratory tests), Long-Term Monitoring Billing (e.g., for continuous EEG or ambulatory EEG), and Neurophysiology Testing Billing (e.g., sleep studies, evoked potentials) more.
- Ensure billing accuracy by complying with American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)- mandated code specificity (ICD-10 Codes, 95700-96020 CPT code range, evaluation and management (E/M) codes, HCPCS codes, diagnostic testing codes for EEGs, EMGs, nerve conduction studies, etc., neurostimulator programming codes, codes specifying medical necessity, place of service (POS) codes, among others).
- Offer accurate billing and coding solutions to neurology medical practices specializing in epilepsy and seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and more.
- File claims while adhering to the varying fee schedules and payment regulations of Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation insurance, Tricare, and other private insurance payers, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and Humana.
- Implement a dedicated claims status specialist to manage patient inquiries and liaise with payers, ensuring timely claims adjudication.
- Receive EOBs from payers to manage transparent and detailed reports outlining charges, approved amounts, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance for each patient. Notify patients about their payment responsibilities for out-of-pocket expenses.
